Unhappy .05 of syn for 12 years and feel like poop!!!

I have been on the same dose for years and I am really feeling bad. I had a horrible doctor and now I am in the process of getting a new one. I have only had TSH taken and it is fine. Can I still need more meds though. I am always tired, ache, and depressed. What can I do to get more meds and what kind of test should I have!!??

Find a doc to check all your levels and not just TSH. Also, your TSH should be between 0.5 - 1.5 for optimum health. Your t3 and t4 levels are important to monitor. It sounds like you're either not getting enough t4 or need some t3 to the mix.

For more detailed assistance go to the very popular about.com thyroid board:

http://forums.about.com/ab-thyroid/

the ladies there are VERY helpful.

If you cannot find a doc to test your free t3 and t4 levels, there is a test called the VIP Profile Plus II at www.healthcheckusa.com that you can get done at a local lab.
