Default 1 month on Met and 2 periods... is this a new norm?!

I just started Met last month. Immediately following I started a light period (which was thrilling because I don't get AF very often). Then last week on CD 18 I started spotting again and now I have another light period!

OK, am I on track to be bleeding for 2 weeks of out the month from now on? Or do you think it's just Met regulating with my body and this will even out eventually?

Any input or advice appreciated!

Hi Jodes,

I had gotten a "going off the bcp" period in the middle of August which sparked my last period....my endo told me to discontinue the pill as she was going to put me on Met and Spiro following the lab tests I got done after my system had been cleared of any trace of bcp. So I started Met on September 30th. I got my first "no bcp" on Oct 6th. It lasted about 6 days - was a normal period....then I got it again on October 21 - again, full period that lasted about 6 days.....then I got it AGAIN on November 5 and it just ended today. I called my endo and told her I seemed to be having 14 day cycles. She said that that means that I'm not ovulating but that she wants to give the met a chance before she has me try to add the provera in to the mix. So, I think it does take a chance for your body to get used to the new meds....we'll see what happens. Just thought I'd tell you what my doc suggested we do - hope everything works out for you

It may just be your body regulating itself. Still, it doesn't hurt to call your Dr and let them know what's going on. The Dr may want to see what happens for another month or two though.

Good luck!

Thank you for the replies. I will continue to be patient... whatever that means...

Xfilegirl - I'm glad to know I'm not the only one! Here's to hoping for normal cycles soon!
