I came across this in the latest 'Living Now' magazine and I thought it was pretty cool.
1. Breathe deeply, really deeply, for five minutes per day. Breathe in through the nose to slow count of 5 ('1000, 2000...') and out of mouth for slow count of 5.
2. Practise silence - learn to just sit with it, and build up the time. Let the thoughts and your feelings flow; don't judge them.
3. Read - delve into books about personal development, and spiritual practice. Keep reading.
4. Meditate often, all different kinds. Make it part of your fundamental daily practice. You can't do it incorrectly. Just do it.
5. Be in and amongst nature, even in the city. Go into garden, the bush, the ocean, as often as possible. Sit under a tree. Really 'be' with your pets.
6. Practise being kind and gentle with everyone, no matter what they do. Project tenderness to upset people.
7. Stop criticising anyone, especially yourself.
8. Meet people's eyes and smile. Say 'G'day'.
9. Care for your self deeply - eat whole fresh foods, drink lots of water and get plenty of sleep.
10. Gently and lovingly speak your truth to all.
11. Talk to a counsellor about those things which trouble you or which you find hard to see in a positive light.
12. Keep a gratitude diary - write everything you are grateful for. Do it, it will work miracles in your life.
13. Practise forgiveness (for everything, even John Howard!). It opens the door to love and happiness and it works!

I like it Deb. This way of thinking I kind of look apon as my religion. I like the ol 'do unto others' theory. I also like number twelve, the gratitude diary. I might try that. I think when things are getting me down, that this would be a great pick me up.
Thanks for sharing.
Donna.

I love the list but brain was totally screwed when I first read this point. Project tenderness to upset people - My first interpretation of it was to project tenderness with the aim of upsetting people.
