I don't think you have to be TTC to take Met... I asked my new gyno about it when i went for my first visit with him, and he DID say that it's usually given to women who are TTC, but that he would give it to me since I was having such a hard time losing weight, and since I couldn't take BCP (high blood pressure concerns.) So... I don't see why there should be a problem with taking it. Just talk to your doc about it.
