14 days cycles with brown blood

I have had PCOS for years,and it was ignored by doctors. About 6 months ago, my doctor finally started to listen to me. So he put me on glucophage 2000 mg/ day. I recently had a physical and they're still finding high levels of sugar in my urine, so now they have taken me off of the glucophage for a month so they can see where my blood sugar is, and I'm now on provera for a week because I had a period for a month and a half non stop and now I have been having one for a few days every couple of weeks,ever 14 days I start. It's not a normal flow it's light, but the blood is always brown, never red. Is this normal? My mom used to say brown blood is old blood, it can't be that old if I am bleeding every 2 weeks. Has anyone ever gone through this or is going through it too?

I went 1 1/2 months with the same problem. I finally scared myself thinking the worst and made an appt with my Gyno. I had my pap (all good there). We scheduled an endometrial biopsy (all good there). I opted for the IUD to stop the bleeding. Of course, after the insertion, I bled for another 1 1/2 months. All the time, it was nothing like a normal period, but a little more than spotting and it was brown the entire time. The IUD has done it's job. I would suggest discussing options with your physician and see which path would be good for you.
