I am currently trying to concieve and was just wondering if 1500mg a day of met is enough>> I know it has regulated me so I know that much.. But is it a high enough dose to get me PG????

I dont have clomid. How much is that????? In terms of dollars and mg and all.............

The recommended dose for PCOS is 1700 but I was on 1500 when I conceived both of mine. I think if it regulates you then you should have no problems getting preg. Good Luck!
thats what i was hoping, it took me 7 days on met to get af, when i hadnt had one in 8 months, i have had one for 3 consecutive months too, so i am sooooooooo happy about that.

Just another question. I'm also on 1500mg of metformin...and I saw that several of you ladies were able to get pregnant on it. Just wondering how long it took. In terms of months. Vtmommy, I hope you don't mind me butting in.

I got preg w/in a couple of months on Met. It regulated me fast and both preg. happend right after going back on the Met...I stopped the Met when I got preg w/dd b/c then they didn't know if it was safe, there hadn't been any studies and I stayed off of it until a little while after I quit bf'ing. My babies are 21 months apart and I had tried a lot over 4 1/2 years with no luck whatsoever. I also lost like 20 lbs. each time on the Met.
I got pregnant after being on Met-1500 just a few months, so it worked pretty fast for me. After giving birth I was told by a np that sometimes your body fixes itself and that I might not need the met again. Now 8 months after giving birth, I've only had one short & light period and am just starting on the met again. Obviously my body didn't didn't fix itself, unfortunately! We're hoping to start ttc #2 this fall, so I'm hoping it does the trick for me again.

Depends on the woman. Women whose hormones are close to normal or that move easily can do really well on a lower dose, others need more. Most Docs test your bloodwork every 3 months or so and if things are still improving will stay at the currenmt dose. If things stall or whatever, then an increase might be in order.
For what it's worth, I was on 1500 mg and I have hormonmes that need a jackhammer. I'm as fertile as Eve on that dose, but it took some time to get there.

Khennager. how long did it take you to concieve on Met 1000mg and Clomid 100mg. i have tried clomid 50 and 100mg alone and never made a differance. Please tell me your story and give me some hope.... This is my first time on met and I have no idea if it will work.
Is 1500mg effective enough to Concieve???
