Default dealing with side effects

I initially started out on metformin and took that for 4 months, but couldn't get over the GI problems. I then started taking glucophage XR and have had much better results. I notice GI upsets when I make bad food choices, or when I don't eat regularly. If i skip breakfast or don't eat small meals spread throughout the day, I get GI effects. It has worked for me if I eat as soon as I get up and then take my med. I hope this helps!!!
