Default 18 and PCOS

Hey everyone!
My name is lauren, im 18 and i was recently diagnosed and had the surgery for PCOS. I've had problems ever since i was 14, the thing is, i had NONE of the symptoms of PCOS and EVERY symptoms of Endometriosis. I bounced around from doctor to doctor and they all said i had endometirosis, i had pain all the time..and i didnt have weight gain, or excessive hair growth or any of the symptoms that come along with PCOS. Im so confused! are there any medications that can stop PCOS from reoccuring....does it reoccur???! Again. I'm alittle confused on how im supposed to be feeling Sugestions of feedback is greatly appreciated!
thankyou!
-Lauren

Glad to have you!! Take advantage of all the resourses here...there is a ton of great information along with signs and symptoms. I was just Dx with Endometriosis...so I understand what your going through. PCOS, does not have a "cure", perse. It is just a matter of treatment and diet. Keep us posted!

Welome to SoulCysters Lauren!
PCOS has no cure. Once you are diagnosed it becomes part of you. So you may as well settle in for the ride
Keep us posted and I hope to see you around the boards.

Default I have PCOS and Endometriosis, and am 19

I have had PCOS for about 6 years now, symptoms when I was about 10, and I hear your pain. I have been to a few doctors myself-and it always feels like they tell me the same stuff all the time. A few medications that I have been on for the past few years that really seem to help are: metformin, Lupron-a menopause effect drug, and lots and lots of ibprofen or tylonel.

Medications:
Metformin 500mg a day Yeah!
Lupron-3 month shot
Lexapro-antidepresiant
Ibprofen or oxycodone-when I have major pain outbreaks
