don't waste your money on these I do NOT recommend Mederma. It's $30 per tube cream advertised on tv for acne scars (and many other kinds of scars). As near as I can tell, it's a complete scam perpetrated by drug companies. They suggest you apply it FOUR TIMES A DAY for MONTHS to get any effect, in the first place.
I found it difficult to wear in combination with makeup. And I found that even before that happened, it irritated my skin and made me break out. I kept trying to use, but found nothing happening after finishing a whole tube.
I suppose if you're an invalid and having nothing to do all day but rub your clean, dry, scarred skin with this cream, it might have an effect, but it seems expensive, slow, impractical, unrealistic, and only minorly effective if at all.
Another thing I have not tried but have studied and observed many other people getting done is dermabrasion. Take not that dermabrasion and MICROdermabrasion are NOT the same thing.
Traditional dermabrasion is a surgical sanding that makes you look terrible during healing (you can't go outside), and costs thousands of dollars. If it's worked for some people, then maybe it's worth it....I am NOT an expert, but for several people I've known who've tried, they were dissatisfied with the results despite a long healing time and soooooo much money being spent and even having to undergo serious anaesthesia (which is a risk).
I've seen better scar treatment results from other products which cost less and are less risky, so I intend to save my money and pursue some of the other scar treatment methods. It's just not worth it to me.
