Default Re: Paxil

Rusoman, this is one of the most incredibly irritating, annoying and maddening side effects of some of the anti-depressants. One of the most common, too. I had that problem on Paxil, and so do a LOT of people I've known who've been on it, or other SSRIs.

One minute, everything's going great, the next, zappo, the feeling is completely gone and it's not coming back. It's got something to do with chemical changes from nitrates to nitrites or some such obscure explanation that the drug messes with. But whyever it happens, it's a total miserable experience.

Tell the doc about it. One of the other SSRIs or antidepressants might not have the same side effect. And sometimes, Wellbutrin is added to whatever you're taking and it fixes the problem. And sometimes, this side effect goes away after a couple weeks or months. It did for me. But I quit Paxil 'cause it was making me sweat like a dog!
