I was Precribed Met 500mg twice a day to begin with BUT he told me for the first few days to just take ONE and then move it up to the two 500mg a day. I am not on 500mg 3 times a day and already have a script for 850 twice a day. I am going to finish the Clucophage 500mg's that I have now at 3 times a day and when they are all gone. Which might not be for a month with the amount I have then I will go to the 850 twice a day.
Oh and yes I believe most people start out at the 500mg twice a day.
