If you have meds that you can no longer use, take them to your pharmacy for proper disposal.

I'm not sure what the laws are in the states, but here (Canada) once a drug has been dispensed, the pharmacy can't take it back and give it to anyone else. I don't think you can take them back to your doctor either, unless they're still sealed ....but I"m not even sure about that. No harm in asking...
