I have also received inquiries like this from my insurance, Employee Benefit Services. I have to say this is something that has been in the works with a lot of insurance companies. Being in the healthcare profession and working with insurance this is how I have come to understand why they are doing this, monitoring money as well as upping patient care. Certain hospitals also do this, you are assigned a PCC (Patient Care Coordinator) to assist you through treatment of certain illnesses, diagnosis and/or diseases. My nurse at the hospital I work at comes to me once a month and makes sure I am healthy and following the advice of my physician. My insurance has done the same thing but I opted not to do the insurance program because I told the nurse that I am comfortable with my doctor for PCOS as well as my asthma. It has taken me too long to feel this way and I just don't trust the insurance companies all that way. Insurances are very sneeky and are usually out for themselves, other than showing some compassion during the most stressful times in one's life after an emergency/death. I hope this helps. Just my own thoughts here.
