I had quite a bit of scarring and discoloration on my face and did several courses of treatment. A mix of Sallicyc peals, glycolic and microdermabrasion. My derm recommended the different treatments so that the scars would fade faster. My skin is really clear and even and I do the treatments maybe once or twice a year now.

I would avoid laser treatements on darker skin unless the derm has experience dealing with people of color since laser make the problems worse or cause hyperpigmintation.
