Dana, a friend of mine had a similar experience to yours when a mutual friend of ours died. She was only a young woman (the girl who died) and was sick in hospital a bit before she died. The night she died, my friend Mike sat bolt upright in bed, and there she was standing in the doorway of his room, smiling at him. He know this couldn't be physically possible, because she was in a coma in the hospital.
He also happened to note the time that he saw her, and sure enough, that was the time she died.
This happens a LOT!!
