dana, thanks for sharing. my family has a history of things like that happening also. my grandmother was at home and got a "message" at the time of HER grandmother's death. i've always been the kooky kid who sees and talks to the dead relatives... *shrugs* sometimes it creeps me out, but more usually it's a beautiful and comforting thing. i was really close to my grandmother and i regret not being as there for her as i should have been near her death; i've had several dreams about her dying and i've been able to talk to her and "resolve" a lot of my guilt and sadness over her loss. sometimes, i can even smell her perfume. (she was one of those stereotypical grandmothers who overdid the pink lipstick and the overpowering cologne! it's unmistakable and i don't know anyone else who wears it.) i even mentioned it to my mom once and she admitted to "smelling" Granny more than once or twice.
i think there are a lot of reasons the deceased visit us in dreams. sometimes, it's as simple as a way to heal our own wounded psyche. or they could just be checking in to say "i love you; don't worry about me." sometimes, they have a message. and those dreams always do feel like "more than dreams"
when we have them.
tiggerlily, it's kind of unusual to dream of your husband's deceased grandparents nightly for such a length of time... sounds as if they have a message for you. have you tried asking them in your dream what they want?
