Like Holly said having a D&C is the "easy way out" physically but the emotional part is still the hardest. For me I couldn't stand the thought that my baby was iside of me and not alive. I just wanted to get it over with. Like someone mentioned on the other board...did you have an u/s done where they can really tell that the baby is gone. For my u/s the doctor was able to see that there was no blood flow at all going to and from the baby. Whether or not to go through with the D&C is really a personal preference. The risk of a problem from having one done is very minimal if you trust your doctor. I was out for my procedure and stayed at the hospital for a few hours. After they knew I wasn't bleeding excessively and after I'd eaten and gone to the bathroom they let me go home. If I had to decide on whether or not to do it again I would. |
