My OB/GYN said the Mirena is better for women with PCOS because the hormones in it keep your uteran lining from building up too much. The excess uteran lining build-up in PCOS women is what increases our risk of Endometrial cancer.

I had mine inserted today and it hurt like hell.

Remeber bleeding/spotting is NORMAL the first 6-8 weeks you have the Mirena in.

The copper IUD is good if you are a cyster who regularly gets your period. Otherwise, my very PCOS wise OB/GYN said to go with Mirena.
