Hi,
I understand how frustrating it can be to feel that there is something a dr should be doing, but isn't. I agree with the pp's who said that if you trust her, you should ask her to please go ahead with the pelvic exam, even if it's just to put your mind at ease. She hasn't already suggested an ultrasound? That seems a little strange to me given your pelvic pains. When I was diagnosed w/pcos, I was 19 and a virgin and due to a problem with my hymen; I wasn't given a pelvic exam. The dr did however insist on about three ultrasounds over the next year or so (I had numerous cysts that were monitored and they wanted to make sure there were no masses in my pelvis).

I'm certainly no dr, but I don't think your dr would be able to tell much by doing a pelvic exam. It seems to me that the thing you should be insisting on is an ultrasound, especially given the pain you are experiencing.
