Thanks for your response, Six. I'm currently taking hormone replacements, the same stuff they give women in menopause - estrogen for 2 weeks, then provera and estrogen for 2 weeks. Even that hasn't brought on af. Also, six, I have been going to a TCM practioner - taking herbs, getting acupuncture - and I'm glad I'm doing it, but as I've said...my body is literally doing NOTHING.
Amanda - I generally just started eating more and exercising less. I still exercise (walk the dog for 45 minutes in the morning, yoga in the evenings twice a week, hiking once a week, and working out at the gym or running in the other evenings), but I do it at a lower intensity and never do cardio more than 30 minutes. I also started eating meat again after being a vegetarian for about 7 years. The hormone replacements have weight gain as a side effect, so i've added 2 lbs in the past month from them alone. I expect/plan to be up to 111 soon, which would put me up to a BMI of 19. I'm very comfortable around 110, so I don't think I want to gain more. But I bought one of those fancy scales that measures body fat, and I think I wasted my $ cause i'm not sure if it is right - at mostit says 17%. I read that 20-22% is where it's at, fertility-wise. |
