Default Met question - non IR and pg - do we need it?

Hi. I am offically 4 weeks pg! Woohoo! I asked my RE if I should be on Metformin before beginning infertility treatments with him. He gave me all the normal tests - fasting insulin, testosterone, etc, and they said my results were in the normal range, whatever that means. So, I asked him if I should be taking it while I'm pg, and he told me to call the nurse. i did, and she basically said she was giving me a prescription to ease my mind, but its only for 500 mg/day. So, I guess I am wondering - Has anyone that isn't IR been given met specifically in order to help with the pregnancy? Should I take it or not? i am already 4 weeks along, betas are doubling fine, and I would only be taking it for 6 more weeks, and only 500 mg. Am I rambling? I don't want to be over medicated if it isn't neccessary, but the last thing I want to do is have to blame myself for a m/c. Any advice/ideas?
