Oolong tea is also a slimming secret in Japan. While I lived there I drank it cold during the summer as you could buy bottles of it like bottles of water. I didn't see any results in the form of weight loss but I did notice that after anything heavy or oily it settled the tummy and digestive system nicely. In Chinese restaurants they use this to wash the grease off their hands from the fried foods and drink it after the meal.
