The theme for this year:
POSAAtively Managing PCOS!
The Sixth Annual Conference on Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) will be held in Sydney, on Saturday September 30 at the Tattersalls Club in Sydney (181 Elizabeth Street).
The conference is organised by the leading advocacy and support group for PCOS women, the Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Association of Australia Inc., or POSAA. Our theme for this year’s event is POSAAtively managing PCOS.
Guest speakers include:
Endocrinologist and Dr Warren Kidson will discuss the latest information on treating PCOS with Metformin, including achieving pregnancy with the insulin-sensitising medication.
Professor John Eden, reproductive endocrinologist and author of the book “Polycystic Ovary Syndrome”. Professor Eden will discuss Managing Menstrual Irregularities and ‘Surviving the 50s and 60s’.
Dr James "Mac" Talbot - Gynaecologist and Reproductive Endocrinologist will talk about PCOS and adolescence.
Dr Anne Clark, medical director of “Fertility First” clinic. Dr Clark was one of the first in the world to discover that losing weight - even a small amount – can boost a woman's fertility. She’ll be talking about “Fertility Fitness” and other options for achieving pregnancy.
Professor Helena Teede from the Jean Hailes Medical Foundation will focus on depression, heart disease, diabetes and PCOS research being conducted at Jean Hailes.
Dr John Mahony from the Cosmetic Physicians Society will discuss the use of Lasers and IPL in removing unwanted excess hair.
Dietitian Kate Marsh who co-authored the book “The New Glucose Revolution: Managing PCOS” will talk about how a low Glycemic Index based diet can help manage PCOS symptoms.
And exercise physiologist Adam Fraser will talk about what exercise is best in battling PCOS.
