I have tried most of the plans with limited success. one cannot live on them past about 2 months.
I am doing the French diet which is not a diet. It's eating smarter.
I don't beleive in eating any faux foods( I never have) I won't touch Splenda or High Fructose corn syrup. The whole Low fat, low carb thing is so misleading.

The problem most people truly have is portion control and not eating enough fresh foods. Have slice a of cake don't eat 1/2 of it to make your self feel better. Have it for a special occasion not because it's tuesday.

Before I had kids I was a Dietician. Except in a few cases like Diabetes or some forms or epilepsy and Anorexia, most people I met were simply medicating themselves with food to feel better. Society is too fast paced anymore and demands perfection and we stuff our faces on the go or whenever our boss say we can have 5 minutes for lunch. Easier to grab a sweet and stuff it down instead of stopping the mayhem and eating a real meal.

I see this in the primary schools too. The lunch times and recess are reduced and kids stuff in what they can in their limited time.I have had to go to the school and demand that they stop rushing kids and shrtening the lunch periods. All my kids keep telling me they now get 20 minutes if lucky to eat. When I was a kid it was an hour.

If low fat or low carb is so great why is the US and Britain so much fatter than they were 20 years ago? Our medical systems are running on overload from Obesity and Diabetes related ills

We have to get off the diets! Even those of us with PCOS! We need to get off the merry go round and realize we cannot have our cake everyday and eat it too.

We can eat real foods not lab created concoctions. We can eat real cheese not that low fat, fat free junk that most sensible animals won't even eat. Just because something is sold in the market doesn't mean it's ok to eat. If I can't pronouce it I don't eat it.

I have lost 15 lbs with this philosopy. We need to listen to our bodies and eat when hungry not just because it's there or we are depressed.

getting off soapbox
