I agree! But in my experience, which I believe is all too typical, they aren't. Most doctors will just do what is easiest for them and their hectic schedules, and unfortunately for us, that often means scratching their heads and taking the path of least resistance. Very few doctors will rise to the challenge and do research on a condition or symptoms that elude their full understanding or confuse them. There's also an ego aspect involved: they don't like admitting that they don't know something. They will lead you astray before they admit they don't know something.

Being your own health care advocate is critical.
