Hi there,

I have just begun my 3rd month of Yasmin. In the 1st month I did see a change. To begin with it all comes out and then settles down, like some people have said. I also noticed a difference when I started a very low calorie diet (Cambridge Diet), which I'm not saying was great for my body, but because I was having to drink 3 or 4 litres of water a day and probably not consuming as much sugar or wheat (or other things that irritate my acne and weight). I only did it for a month because I got tonsillitis and decided that in order to get better i would have to eat fresh and healthy stuff.

I think dietary changes can help acne, but i know it doesn't always, as i can eat the healthiest stuff and still have a flare up of painful spots...

Yasmin is not high in androgenic hormones so it should in theory help acne, but our bodies respond differently to medication...

I feel really self conscious of my skin as it is visibly sore and inflamed even when i wear make up, and i worry that people think i am unclean or just scoff my face with burgers and chocolate, which i don't. I seem to have 2 or 3 spots which are like cysts (i was diagnosed with cystic acne before pcos) and the just keep on coming back and are soooooooo sore!! I don't know if they are hair follicles or what. But they take forever to heal. I used to have great skin that would heal quickly but since the age of 12 it has gone downhill. Ahh well. I'm going to try bi-cycling my pill these next 2 months to see if that will help with everything.

Best wishes to everybody xx
