That information really helps! thanks so much ! My doctor made it sound as though I would be on met for 5-6 months, just until I got my weight down and then go off of it. I personally don't want to be taken off of it even after I do lose the weight. Plus, although I am feeling a little better lately, I haven't lost any weight so I think it is going to take me longer than just a few months to lose my weight. I am still trying to figure it all out. I am reading about the insulin resistance diet and such. I guess I just have concerns about being taken off of the met before I have even had a chance for it to work for me. I suppose that is just something I will have to discuss with my doctor. I am hoping that I can stay on it for as long as I need to. I am also relieved to hear that it is unlikely to become resistant to met. I would hate to know that we found something that worked for us and had to give it up because the body would become resistant to it. That would be horrible I think.
