Holland- as long as it is draining that is a good sign. They need to heal from the inside out because of basically being holes.

I have never had to use pain pills. I use tons of Advil though!! The anti-inflammatory helps to ease the pain of the redness around the site. Although, I am probably damaging some other organ due to the amount of Ibuprofen I ingest.

I have actually taken knives to myself to break open and drain....I am going to try a heating pad next time. It sounds......less painful???? LOL

Reading everyone's experiences really lets me know I am not alone in this. For such a long time I thought I was.

Does having the boils/cysts affect intimacy? I know it does for me. I feel so many things...gross, smelly, infectious...how do you deal? My DH has never made me feel this way....it's all me and my head. Daytime or lights on sex is out of the question. I don't want him to see the scars, the bandaids, or the possible rupturing.

Does anyone get them where it is not a "hotspot"? I have gotten ones on my stomach nowhere near a waistband. I have gotten them on top my breast/chest. Nowhere near sweaty. Those hurt so bad because you don't have the "natural" moist/heat to hurry along the rupturing.

TMI....I don't think it is too much. It lets me know I am not the only one. I keep saying that I know.....but.....HS has been so mentally and physically damaging to me.

People who don't have it or know someone who does.....can't understand.
