Default My first 2WW

Hi all,

I just found this board yesterday. My partner and I are in our first cycle trying for me to get pregnant. We were blessed over 8 years ago when she conceived our first child, a beautiful son, on her first attempt, via IUI. Our son was the joy of our world, amazing us every day. He lived for 6 years, 2 months and 19 days. He passed away in a fire at his grandparent's house, and my partner also lost her parents. Just over 13 months ago our angel left this world. I am finally feeling 'ready' to get this process started, so here I am.

So, yeah, I didn't know what a 2WW was, until I was in it. OMG! I'm not a worrier, and I can't stop wondering and thinking and thinking and thinking about the possibilities. But, that's how I found this place. So, that's good, right?!

I was inseminated just 5 days ago, which in any normal week would fly by, but these past five have seemed soooo long... I have an appointment to get my progesterone levels checked tomorrow morning. I don't know much about all of this PCOS pregnancy and miscarriage stuff. I've only read some over the past couple days. I do know that from what I've read, I want to talk to my doctor about Metformin. Anyone ever feel like you know more than your RE? I'm sure I don't. But, sometimes I just wonder. Anyway...

Being that I don't like waiting, I have found... What's the likelihood that taking a pregnancy test early is just going to be a waste of a test... I know I always see an ad on TV that talks about '5 days before a missed period...' Would that work for me? Or because I took clomid and chorionic gonadotropin will that throw my numbers off? If anyone knows, I'd greatly appreciate sharing your wisdom with me! Thanks!!

Glad to have found this place.
