As far as donating meds to your Dr's office, it depends on the meds and the Dr. I've had a Dr's office buy back medications from my grandfather. He used to take the lidocaine pain patch and he became allergic to it, so they actually bought back his RX. A lot of times they won't take them back, since they have been opened, but his where sealed individually. But again it depends on the state probably too.
