I haven't joined a church yet, but I have been attending one for a while. As a single woman in my late 20's it has been hard to find a church that has a ministry that I fit into. The women's ministries were mainly married women that either didn't work, worked part time, or had retired. The college group is just much younger than me now, and usually singles groups were people in their 30's and 40's that were settled in being single and not really looking. The church I have been attending regularly for the past few months is a bit of a mega church, which was really intimidating since I had ot visit by myself, but it is amazing how small it feels when you find a group that you fit into. They have a single groups that is 25 to 30's and we are all looking and hoping to be married. It is the first time I have felt at home in a sinlge ministry and they all discuss what study we will do so everyone has input and it is tailored to what we are all facing. They also have fellowship nights every other Friday and often get together in between. Now that I am involved, the church actually feels smaller than it is. Once I meet someone and start moving toward marriage, I'm sure we will re-evaluate our church and find the one that is best for both of us. That will be a while considering I'm not dating anyone at the moment.
