PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome) is a syndrome, not a disease. This means that it is reversible.
I am not sure that necessarily follows. I understood that what differentiated a "syndrome" from a "disease" had to do with the collection of symptoms that characterize the disorder and whether a patient has to have all of the symptoms in order to be classified as having it. with a syndrome you do not have to have all of the symptoms . A disease is a health disorder with a more defined set of symptoms. I don't think that just because a health disorder is classified as a disease vs a syndrome - it says anything about how serious the disorder is or whether or not it is reversible.
