I'm so glad that I've found this site! It will take me days to go through all of the great information here!
Just a quick background on myself... My mother was diagnosed with PCOS after two years of trying to conceive when she finally went to a civilian doctor (my father was in the Army) who diagnosed her immediately. She had an ovarian wedge reduction and a couple of months later, she conceived me and was able to carry to term but the following two pregnancies resulted in early miscarriages.
I suspected that I had PCOS and even though my gyno was the same one who diagnosed my mother, delivered me, and handled my mother's miscarriages, he told me that it was impossible to inherit and that he didn't think that I had it. Even when I went down the list of symptoms that I had, he still didn't think it was a problem and told me not to worry about it. Shortly after that, I got married and lost my insurance.
So I've never been formerly diagnosed and probably won't be until I have health insurance again, but I prefer to do things the natural way anyway. And I really hope to get some great ideas from here to tide me over until I can have the proper testing done and can find out exactly what is going on! |
