Default Diagnosed With Type 2 Diabetes

I recently started seeing a new endo who diagnosed me. He increased my Metformin to 2000mg a day and also put me on Glyburide 5mg a day and Neurontin 100 mg a day (for neuropathy, i especially have in my feet, along with body aches & pains) I had prviously been taking Metformin 1000mg. I also take Armour Thyroid for Hashimoto's Disease (hypothyroid).

My periods have taken a vacation (last one was back in March) Is it possible that i had pcos all along and that it just turned to diabetes? I'm just guessing. I'm also soon to turn 45 next month, could also be perimenopause. Can anyone else relate?
