Default e coli infection

I've had a very bad vaginal odor for a very long time, which I've written about before on this message board. I was just diagnosed with an e coli infection in my vagina. I didn't know e coli could be in the vagina, so I did some googling and it turns out e coli can cause bacterial vaginosis. The Dr. prescribed ampicillan. I took ampicillan for group b strep when I was pregnant, and it did make the odor go away, but when I stopped the ampicillan the odor came back. I really want to make it go away permanently.

I’m wondering, does anyone else have experience with e coli? Is it related in any way to PCOS? Is there any way to make it go away permanently? Does PCOS treatment help? I just started metformin a few months ago. Thanks!
