Since it's that time of year, I thought I'd relay a tidbit my OB/GYN shared with me last winter.
Depending on where you live, a SAD lamp (which, by the way, you can get at Costco) may not be enough! Taking Vitamin D and calcium supplements in addition to using your lamp for daily light treament has a far greater impact than using the lightbox alone.
One of the added benefits of this regime is that you might lose weight! I mysteriously lost fiften pounds last winter; after reviewing my diet and exercise schedule, I realized that the only thing I was doing differently was the SAD lamp/Vitamin D/Calcium regime.
