thanks betwixt, I really enjoyed all your poetry and am looking forward to reading more. You really have talent. I would like to post another of mine here.
Sisters
Without pause like the swing of the sea
Your body eased into the curve of pregnancy,
Swelled naturally in all the right places
Grew round while your skin remained taut
And in two small hours produced a flawless child
Who could already laugh and praise heaven for his perfection.
After two grueling years I finally caught
The line on the stick I could scarcely believe,
Held on to her through cruel floods of blood
And hormones. My soul and body ravaged,
Emotions crumbled. Deep lines stretched across my skin.
Eleven hours and three million seconds later
My sad, grey-blue baby came into the world,
And opened one eye at me slowly. |
