Here in the US if you can't get on a big group plan (i.e., work for a company with health insurance) you most likely can't even get insurance if you have any type of preexisting condition. At least that has been my experience living in Florida and Louisiana. Stupid PCOS keeps me from getting insurance. I am self employed so I get screwed.
