I've heard of some drugs actually producing PCOS in some women. One of the drugs is depakote. A lot of neuorlogists try avoid this anti-epileptic drug in young women based on this reason. It causes weight gain (like most anti-epileptic drugs, except Topiramate), increasing male hormone for hirsuitism and acne. Sounds like PCOS and looks like PCOS? You bet ya! It says women taking depakote are more risk of having PCOS, claiming it is not an 'enzyme inducing' to lower the male hormones.
