I am on verapamil for migraines. I take 120mg daily. I used to take inderal (beta blocker) for anxiety in college which was only 40-80mg. If I do not take the medication each night, I end up with a killer migraine and a BP of 170/100.

That does seem like a high dose of medication, but seeing that your BP is so high when anxious it does make sense. Beta and Alpha blockers are highly effective. It is good you are building up to your dose as taking such a large one can have unwanted side effects.

Good luck. My best advice is avoid salty/greasy foods, cut back on caffeine and drink plenty of water. These things can help reduce your blood pressure as well. Take a deep breath and try to relax (I know a lot easier said than done-I am working on this one myself!)

Verapamil 120mg each evening (for prevention of migraines)
Zomig-for migraines as needed
