...then maybe people (barring you and mods, if you're so busy) should make more of an effort to visit the motherhood forum. Or create an announcement-only thread, no comments allowed, and let people bookmark that to make it part of their daily/weekly/monthly rounds. That way you get all the new babies/adoptions in one place and can send people email/PMs/talk to them in chat and congratulate them. Or put something in the announcement thread, and then begin their own thread with all the nitty gritty details.
I know I'm in the minority here, but it really does seem like it's taking up space and making everyone read it (including those 'sensitive cases' everyone is always tiptoeing around) because interested parties couldn't be arsed to take a few minutes to click around. *shrug* |
