Cobra is high, but whatever you do, don't let your coverage lapse. That's when the real problems start. Things can get really hard with a lapse in coverage.

Also, if you have to visit the doctor while waiting for new insurance, try to get your doctor to refrain from putting anything related to 'pcos' in your records.

Techinically, it's not a disease, so you don't really need to have it noted in your records. Since it's a syndrome (ie a 'constellation' of symptoms), have the doctor simply note the individual issues (ie hirsutism, high cholesterol, etc).

That kind of stuff flies under the health insurance radar...
