I had GD with my first pregnancy. I failed the 1 hour at 20 weeks when I went off met, but passed the 3 hour. I took the 3 hour again at the usual time and failed it. I was purely diet/exercise controlled. I went to a diabetes educator and followed the diet to the letter and was always in range. I did not have any additional monitoring because my blood sugars were undercontrol, however I was induced at 39 w 2 d (most docs will induce for gestational diabetes because the placenta can mature (stop working correctly) early). My son was perfectly healthy and had no problems, and I had an uncomplicated vaginal delivery. He weighed 7lbs 2 oz and left the hospital at 6lbs 10 oz.

This pregnancy I don't have it. In fact, I never failed the 1 hour this time, and I took it at 16 and 28 weeks! So, there is no guarantee that you'll have it in subsequent pregnancies. Hopefully you passed. My OB's office has a lab that does all the testing, and the results are immediate. So I knew within minutes of my blood draw that I didn't have it.
