I was GD with DD, and have a good chance of being GD with this one. If so, then I'll just take it in stride like I did with DD.

I failed my 1 hr at 146, and failed the 1 and 2 hour levels of my 3 hour test. After 3 weeks on the GD diet, about half of my numbers were still too high, so I was on glyburide from 33 weeks on. That meant weekly ultrasounds and fetal heart monitoring.

I was really good about my diet, kept my numbers really controlled, and DD was born at 40w2d via induction and clocked in a 7lbs 1oz. My OB was pleased, and said that I did a really good job keeping the GD under control and had a perfect labor and delivery (once we got her going with pitocin).

Honestly, your body is going to do whatever it's going to do. There's no way to fake or cheat the test, since you do it fasting and drink a prescribed amount of sugar. If your hormones are going to go the GD route, you're stuck. I was really worried about it before my first GD test, and when I got my diagnosis I had a little "poor me, my body hates me and I'm going to mess up my baby and my health" pity party. But once I came to grips with the whole thing, it wasn't too bad. Sticking my finger 4 times/day sucked, and being very regimented about my eating wasn't the most exciting thing I've ever done, especially since I had my brother's wedding and my 30th birthday to deal with in the midst of the whole thing. But I dealt, and I survived. If I wind up GD with this one, I'll still probably have a bit of a pity party, but at least I know how to handle the situation. Not knowing or getting incomplete information was the worst part.

GL, and I hope you pass your test when you take it!
