I actually had some really severe pain in my ovaries a year and a half ago and that's when I started missing periods. It took a year before my doctor would take it seriously and run other tests. Then was just diagnosed in January when I hadn't had a period in over 4 months. They did glucose tests, liver function tests, ultrasounds, etc. and all signs pointed to PCOS. We are not trying to conceive yet but will be in a couple years (waiting for husband to finish school). Not sure what to expect from the specialist appt. in 2 weeks or what to ask or anything. I assume she will just be going over some medical treatments and such since they know we are not TTC yet? |
