From what I've heard, I think Met regulates your blood sugar, so if you're producing too much, it lowers it, and if you aren't producing enough, it makes enough. Something like that (someone PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong!). I've never had issues with blood sugar, never felt weak or lightheaded or hypoglycemic or anything until I started Met. It wouldn't happen all that often, but enough so that I would always carry something with me in my purse to eat just in case I felt shaky or whatever. I was afraid Met was giving me blood sugar issues, but my husband and doctor both said that it doesn't do that.
I think it's a drug that can take some getting used to, whether because of gastro issues or just how you feel in general. But definitely call your doctor if you don't feel right. I know it took me a good month to feel better on it and several months to feel almost normal on it.
