Hi there, another Aussie girl here

Im Louise, from Melbourne, nice to "meet" you all and great to be able to chat to others going through the same stuff with the horrid PCOS!!

I'm currently suffering from severe pains due to first period in 8 months .. I'm sure you all know the feeling .. MAJOR OUCH!! Having said that, of course I'm pleased I'm finally having a natural period. Just wish the pain wasn't so horrible. Hmmm you'd think I'd be used to it by now, always suffered major pain with periods since I first got it when I was 11. But somehow, everytime it happens, the pain almost shocks me.

Anyhoo, I've recently had my hormone levels checked, now have to get insulin resistance checked again. Doctor thinks I would benefit from going on Metformin. I'm carrying too much weight, especially around my tummy, I swear I look 3 months pregnant grrrr. Anyone had good experience with Metformin.

I also suffer from clinical depression and have only now (from reading these boards) realised the PCOS and depression are linked. I'm pretty shocked not one doc or specialist has made the link with me before this. I'm in anti depressants for my depression. The past hmm prob 10 days my depression got progressively worse for no particular reason (but theres often not a reason for my type of depression), and now having got my period today, I realise its probably all related to the hormone levels????

Um a bit about me. Well I'm 37, never been married, no kids (except 2 fur babies, my puppies who I adore and treat like my kids!), currently single. i find it's hard to find a man who can tolerate someone who suffers from depression and PCOS, would take a pretty understanding man, and well I haven't found one yet

Anyway, look forward to chatting to fellow aussie soul cysters.

Hugs
Lou
