I feel like giving up. Help! I have been taking 1,000mg (yes - that's all!) of Met Extended Release for 5 months now, and I have felt like sh*t EVERY SINGLE DAY. I am constantly nauseated, I have unpredictable bouts of diarrhea that I cannot control, and I can't focus on anything else. I always have the shakes, I can barely eat (which has lead to a 30 lb weight loss - but the price isn't worth it), and that brings my blood sugar down low low low. When I eat, I eat properly, and I keep trying different foods to see if any one thing has a different effect. Nope. All food affects me the same way. I just get to the point where I start crying because I feel like I have had the stomach flu for almost a half a year now.
Could it be that Met just isn't for me? Could it be that my dose is too high? 'Cause y'all are taking like twice as much! If so, what were your side effects and what did you do about controlling your IR some other way (or with a different med)?
I keep thinking, "My body will get used to it. I'll be fine in a week or two." but it never happens.
Help!
