So I will make this quick.
I have thyroid issues and was referred to Dr. David Thompson(endocrinologist) in Vancouver. He is is suppose to be one of Canada's top thyroid specialists.
We went to see him last week and our visit was awesome. Although I didn't originally see him for my PCOS, I will be following up with him.
At my point of dealing with PCOS, I am not looking for traditional treatments but something outside the box. Dr. T. was definately willing to think out side the box and actually mentioned medications that will be available in Canada later this year(or next) that will be a huge help to women with PCOS. Because they are not approved for treatment, my guess is that most doctors will not be willing to prescribe them. Kind of like when Metformin was first introduced. Well Dr. T. is willing to think outside the box and prescribe non typical meds, if they work. He also didn't say anything about my weight, and was actaully really helpful and knowledgable. Bedside manner wasn't great but at this point, I only want proper treatment. |
