Hi,

I've only just started taking Metformin about 6 weeks ago and am on 2 x 500mg daily at moment. I had really bad GI probs the first week and i find if i miss my tablets for a day i pay for it the next day. Other than that, as long as i make sure that i have some protein and/or carb (ie not just salad for example) then i seem to be ok. Oh and have learned the hard way NEVER take Met on empty stomach!!

Am seeing dr on 21st and think she will increase dosage to 3 x 500mg so will have to see how it affects me then.

Hope it gets easier for you.
